1. Who these terms are with

These terms apply to founding campaign invitations purchased through this website for Praliné French Patisserie’s café at 227 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02116 (“Praliné”, “we”, “us”). By purchasing a campaign invitation you agree to these terms.

Praliné operates cafés in Belmont, Cambridge, and — on opening — Boston.

2. What you are purchasing

You are reserving a campaign reward through Praliné’s official checkout, operated by Square. Each invitation includes the store credit listed for that tier, plus any founding benefits attached to it.

This is a purchase of goods and services, not a charitable contribution and not an investment. You receive store credit and the stated benefits in exchange for your payment.

3. How the 120% store credit works

Every campaign invitation returns 120% of your pledge as Praliné store credit. For example, a $100 pledge becomes $120 of credit. Custom contributions return 120% on the same basis.

Store credit may be used at all three Praliné cafés: Belmont, Cambridge, and 227 Newbury Street. It may be applied to food, pastry, and beverage purchases, and may be used across multiple visits.

Store credit has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred or resold unless we agree otherwise in writing.

4. When credit is issued

You will receive an emailed confirmation of your campaign purchase within two business days.

Store credit is distributed when the Newbury Street café opens. The opening date stated on this site is our current expectation, not a guarantee; see section 7.

5. Tier benefits and limited availability

Some tiers include benefits beyond store credit — for example pre-opening party invitations, a custom cake, a private tasting, or a place on the founder’s wall. Those benefits are described on the campaign page and are limited in number. Where a tier is marked as limited, invitations are fulfilled in the order received and may sell out.

Experience-based benefits such as parties and tastings are scheduled around the opening. We will contact you by email to arrange them. Where a specific date cannot be met, we will offer a reasonable alternative.

6. Payment

Payments are processed by Square. We do not receive or store your full card details. Your payment is also subject to Square’s own terms and privacy policy.

Prices are in US dollars and include the store credit stated for each tier.

7. Changes, delays, and cancellation

This is a campaign to help an independent business open a new café. Opening a physical location depends on construction, permitting, inspection, and other factors outside our full control, and the opening date may move.

If the opening is delayed, your store credit and benefits remain valid and will be honoured when the café opens. We will keep supporters informed by email.

If the Newbury Street café does not open at all, we will contact all supporters to arrange either a refund or the equivalent credit usable at our Belmont and Cambridge cafés, at your choice.

8. Refunds

If you wish to cancel a campaign purchase, contact us at pralineconfections@gmail.com with “Newbury campaign” in the subject line and we will review your request. We aim to respond within five business days.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

9. Not a donation or investment

Campaign invitations are not tax-deductible charitable donations. They are purchases that include store credit and the benefits listed for each tier.

Backing this campaign gives you no equity, ownership, profit share, or other financial interest in Praliné. We do not provide tax advice; please consult your own adviser if you have questions about how a purchase should be treated.

10. Your information

We collect the details needed to fulfil your campaign reward — typically your name, email address, and order information — and use them to send your confirmation, issue your store credit, and arrange any benefits included in your tier.

We do not sell your personal information. Payment information is handled by Square under its own privacy policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for example to correct an error or reflect a change in how the campaign operates. The version in force for your purchase is the one published on this page at the time you bought your invitation. Material changes affecting existing supporters will be communicated by email.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, and any dispute will be handled by the courts located there.

13. Contact

Questions about the campaign, your credit, or these terms are welcome. Email pralineconfections@gmail.com and include “Newbury campaign” in the subject line.
